What is Totally Booked Crate?

Totally Booked Crate is a book box that is put together by hand by our team (which is a family of 3) and sprinkled with lots of love. You will receive one newly released/bestseller from the genre you chose, an exclusive candle, a treat, and one useful bookish/self-care item to your door. Our romance crate offers romance, historical, and new adult. Our YA crate offers young adult contemporary and young adult fantasy. Variety is what makes our crate special.


Our subscribers range in ages from 16 to 50+ years old. We try our best to create and curate items that appeal to this wide range of subscribers, which as you can imagine is not easy to do. We try our best to accommodate multiple age groups because of all the genres we offer. We also want to expose readers to all sorts of books, genres, and authors within the genres we offer. Which I must say we do a pretty good job with. So how do you know if Totally Booked Crate is the box for you? If you enjoy bookish goodies and new books from the genre of your choice, then you'll enjoy this box.

How does it work?

Choose your subscription, the TBC team works hard putting your crate together, the box is delivered to you monthly, enjoy your book and bookish goodies! Then repeat and fall in love with us! Don't forget to share, share, share! We love seeing pictures of our crate. Boxes typically ship after the 20th of the following month for ALL orders made that month. Keep in mind this is a one-two people business so it takes time to put the box together, print labels, send emails, and set up for boxes to be picked up and shipped. For example, if you ordered a January box, your crate will ship after the 20th of February. These dates can vary based on the release date of the book or if the shipping trolls delay everything.

How are boxes priced? When I purchase a subscription what am I paying for?

Our subscription boxes are $23.00 plus shipping. Tax may be included to your order based on location. Purchasing a prepaid subscription plan is the cheapest way to get a box. We hire vendors in advance and secure items in advance, this is why we do not offer refunds or exchanges on subscription boxes or one-time purchase boxes.

Discount Code

Discounts?! Who doesn't love discounts! Discounts are available through our reps or through special sales we have for that month and must be applied at checkout. We cannot go back in and add the code for you the Cratejoy system does not have that option. Please take the time to seek out codes prior to purchase. There is always a spot at checkout to enter the code. All coupon codes apply to boxes only, not shipping charges. One-time purchased boxes can also use codes.

When will I be charged? When will my box be shipped?

For monthly recurring subscriptions: your subscription will renew every 25th of the month, regardless if you received your crate. Please make sure you have the funds available during renewals. We are not responsible for any fees you  are charged for insufficient funds. If you would like to delay your renewal date by 7 days you must email us before the renewal date so that we can set it up for you. For the discounted prepay subscription: You will pay for the subscription upfront + shipping for each box. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN ONCE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RENEWS.


Boxes typically ship on the 20th of the following month. These dates can vary based on the release date of the book or if the shipping trolls delay everything. Sometimes you won't receive your crate until the first week of the following month.  Please note it may take 48 hours for your tracking to become active.

I am an author, agent, or publishing company, how do I get our books and promotional materials into a box?

We would love to work with you! Please send us an email at totallybookedcrate@gmail.com so that we can collaborate. We look forward to reviewing manuscripts, books, and other promotional material for consideration into our book box.


I'm a business selling items that would be great in your boxes! How do I get my items into a box?

We would love to work with you! Send us more information about your business/products to totallybookedcrate@gmail.com You must also be willing to send us samples of your products.


How can I become a rep for TBC? (bookstagram, Youtube,& bloggers)

Please enter one of our rep searches on Instagram. Everyone is more than welcome and encouraged to photograph and or video their unboxing and tag us @totallybookedcrate / @myguiltypleasuresbookcrate and use our hashtags. We have stalker like tendencies so we may even stalk you and ask you to be a Rep or send you a box for review! Please do not email or message us asking for free boxes or to rep for us. 


What if I have the book already or receive the same book from another book box? Do you accept returns or exchanges on books?

We strive to bring you the latest and greatest books available. We know other book box companies do the same. Chances are that somewhere down the line another book box will choose the same book we have chosen. Please know that if you subscribe to multiple book boxes this is a risk you are taking. We do not offer duplicate book refunds or exchanges

What if I need to cancel, how do I do that? What if I've paid for a box and then I cancel?

We are sad to see you go and hope that you will join us again here at My Guilty Pleasures Book Crate/Totally Booked Crate. To cancel simply login to your account on our site. It is extremely important that you make sure you cancel your subscription before the 25th of the month. Otherwise, you will be billed  and WILL receive the next month's box. We do not do refunds on paid subscriptions, we fulfill what has been paid for and will not charge you beyond that. We do not cancel subscriptions you must log in and cancel it  yourself for security reasons. Even if you order a monthly or prepaid subscription and cancel the next day you will still receive all boxes that are paid for. We do not offer refunds/exchanges on paid subscription boxes or one-time purchase boxes. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS!


Do you accept returns, give refunds, or do exchanges on book boxes?

No, we do not. In the event we have any extra boxes they will be listed for sale at www.totallybookedcrate.com/ in the "ONE-TIME PURCHASE" section, but you cannot exchange your box for a different month's box. We do not give refunds/exchanges on paid subscription boxes or one-time purchase boxes. We do not accept returns on boxes. Once a box is purchased we order all items for it and the box is accounted for to the subscriber. We do not give ANY refunds! If a box is returned to us via USPS it is the buyers responsibility to pay for reshipment. Boxes returned to sender by the post office or refused by the buyer will ONLY be reshipped at the buyers expense. No refunds are given for returned boxes. To be very clear if a box is returned to us, it is the customers responsibility to pay for reshipment. Please double check your mailing address when you sign up and update it if you move.

Lost or Stolen Packages Policy & Moving Policy & Return to sender Policy

When we ship your box, you will receive a tracking number via the email you provided when you signed up. Once your package is dropped off at the USPS, it is the responsibility of the Postal Service to get your package to you. If you do not receive your package, please e-mail us and we will track the package to the best of our ability.  We are unable to replace lost or stolen packages because we did our part, which was preparing your box and getting it to the post office. Once we take it to the post office it then becomes the USPS responsibility to get it to you. We are a small business and cannot refund/replace packages for postal service mistakes. Besides, when you purchase something from a regular store and it was lost/stolen are you able to get a refund or replacement? No, so the same policies apply to an online store/small business. 


If a package is lost, returned to sender, or failed delivery it will be sent back to us and it will be up to the customer to pay to have it reshipped. We are not responsible if your postman leaves it on the porch/outside mailbox or in the rain while you were out of town. We suggest you arrange with a neighbor to safeguard your package while you are away. If you are moving please let us know prior to our ship date. Again, once your box has been taken to USPS we are no longer responsible. It is your responsibility to update all account information. For US customers, each package will be shipped via Priority Mail and insured if damage to the boxes items occurs a claim will need to be filed with the USPS. Photos of damage will need to be provided by the customer. These claims can take months to resolve and that is out of our hands. We have never had this issue occur and hope it never does. Boxes returned to sender by the post office or refused by the buyer will ONLY be reshipped at the buyers expense. No refunds are given for returned boxes.

Frozen or Melting Policy

We try our best to give new and exciting items to our subscribers these items in the past have included full size candles, body soaps, mini candles, lip balm, hand soaps, chapstick, bath bombs and cookies. We know weather is different around the globe, however we simply cannot be held responsible for weather or your mailman leaving it on your porch. We ask that you take this into account when placing an order when weather is extreme where you live. We are currently shipping US priority mail which is 2 to 3 days US. We do our best to get packages to you quickly. These packages have the potential to sit in hot or cold mail trucks for a lengthy amount of time. Please note that a frozen or melted item is not a broken item. Unfortunately, we cannot replace/give a refund for these items. A claim will have to be placed through USPS, which we would need pictures. This process may take months this process is out of our hands. **Please read our entire FAQ prior to placing an order.**


Broken/Damaged/Missing Items

We do our best to ensure that everyone gets each item in their box since each item is accounted for by order. We understand that the USPS/postal service can be rough on boxes, which can cause books to be bent, fragile items to break etc. They don't handle them with love and care like we do! When we package the crates all items are new and in good condition. If an item arrives broken/damaged please contact us via email right away within 7 days of delivery and include photos of the broken/damaged item. If an item is honestly missing please contact us within 7 days of box delivery and we will check our stock and do our best to get you the item. All claims must be made via email within 7 days to be valid.

Customs and Fees & Returned Packages

Customers are responsible for paying any duties or custom fees for their own packages. Please check with your Countries policies before placing an order if you are unsure about duty fees. If your package is returned to us for unpaid custom fees or taxes it is not our responsibility and will not be refunded. The package can be resent at the buyers expense. Again, as a customer you are responsible for looking into it and know if and any taxes or fees are associated with a subscription box.

*Ingredient List/Allergies/Sensitive Skin*

We love to include homemade edibles, candles, bath and beauty products to our subscription book box. We purchase these goodies from various vendors/small businesses. However, not all vendors list the detailed description of the ingredients used because they have it on their site. It is your responsibility to research or contact the vendor/small business in regards to the ingredients used. However, we do sample products for quality. We also mainly feature vendors that use all-natural ingredients and ingredients for sensitive skin.


For animal/pet allergies, as pictured on Instagram we have our TBC mascot, which is our Siberian Husky. If you know about huskies you would know that they shed all year round, which means at times a hair may make its way into a crate. We do try very hard to avoid this, however it is hard to. Please be advised that we will not be held responsible for anything (bills, expenses, or treatments) that relates to allergies/sensitive skin.

Prices Break Down

For our large box we pay about $4 just for the box, then we purchase our own packaging and packing materials. We pay a monthly fee to Cratejoy for our shop. We also pay a transaction fee to Paypal and Stripe. Then we pay a 10% fee on each subscription each month and every month that comes through the Cratejoy marketplace. Then if you've used a coupon that comes off. We pay vendors for items, we pay the Authors or publishers for new books usually about $7-$10 each book. Then depending on the weight of the crate as a whole we cover $3.47-$5.22 (US residents), Canada residents we cover $1.47-$8.52, and International residents we cover $5.60-$10+ of the actual cost of shipping. Then with what is left we create a box for you that costs you only $29.99 a month. We ask that you take a look at these numbers and be respectful of our business and know that we make these crates for you from our heart and not for much profit. So please be respectful of our time and efforts. I spend a lot of my time coming up with the themes, curating the items, and preparing these crates for you. However, I love doing it and as stressful as it may be at times it makes me happy to know that I was able to make the lovely person opening their crate happy! <3
